A calm summer night
Silently the cord is pulled
Two-stroke awakens

Revs bounce oft
Neighbors peeking through curtains
Engine brap

Two strokes is all it takes when you pull the cord? That’s quick.

A two stroke awakens...
A two stroke awakens...
I’m sorry, is there an Echo here?

I see what you did there.

Excellent I tried to work in brap but failed.

Was weak. Had a couple versions all involving brapping but in my simple mindedness forgot engine was 2 syllables so had to settle

A calm summer night
Two stroke engine roars to life
Brap brap brap brap brap.
Or...
Two stroke engine starts
Brap brap brap brap brap brap brap
The neighbors hate me.

Omg I’m so dumb. Seriously looked at yours and told myself it was 3/7/3. Could have worked magic with 5/7/5. In my defense I’ve been out of school for way many years and haiku doesn’t come up much!

Had to share with you. Your second haiku rang a recent bell. http://oppositelock.kinja.com/but-how-will-y…

It’s OK - I’ve found that there seem to be many different sets of rules for what count as a Haiku.

Yeah... I tend to blip it a lot while wandering from one patch of weeds to the next. Also when warming it up so that it will idle without stopping.
Also just because.
